The Holy Spirt, Part 2
• Series: The Holy Spirit
In our series, The Holy Spirit, we’ve explored foundational truths: He is called God and is equal to the Father and the Son. Jesus invites us to ask the Father for the Holy Spirit, reminding us in Luke 11:11–13 that God gives the Spirit to those who ask. Prayer for the Spirit’s infilling brings every spiritual blessing, quiets God’s heart toward us, and declares our surrender. We also discussed how compromise—symvivasmós, or retreat—hinders fellowship with the Spirit, as James 4:4 warns against friendship with the world, which represents ungodly systems apart from God. Paul clarified in 1 Corinthians 5:9–13 that while we should engage non-believers, we must take a firm stance with believers who indulge in sin. Today, we’ll see how the Spirit shares God’s eternal attributes, as declared in Psalms 90:2: “From beginning to end, you are God.” Let’s continue growing in understanding!
