Today we’re exploring water baptism—what it is, what it means, and why it matters. In Romans 6:1–9, Paul shows that baptism identifies us with Christ in His death, resurrection, and the freedom He gives us. In the past, we’ve seen baptism as a declaration of following Christ and a way into God’s family. Today, we’re focusing on how it marks our new identity: we die to sin, rise to new life, and are freed from its power. As we baptize today, let’s remember that through Christ’s sacrifice, we are no longer slaves to sin but made new in Him.
