Christ Over Culture, Part 1
This message is in two parts due to the length of the recording. Part 1 of 2 We live in a world where culture constantly shifts—values change, trends come and go, and society often pressures us to conform. But as followers of Christ, we are called to something greater. We are not to be shaped by the culture around us; rather, we are to stand firm in the unchanging truth of God’s Word. In Romans 12:2, Paul gives us a clear charge: "Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect." This means that while we are in the world, we are not of the world. Our allegiance is not to the shifting morals of society, but to the eternal authority of Christ. One of the greatest ways we reflect Christ over culture is by how we treat others. The world may divide people by status, race, or background, but Jesus calls us to love and treat everyone the same—with grace, compassion, and truth. Are we being shaped by culture, or are we shaping culture for Christ? Let’s open our hearts and the Word of God together as we seek His guidance on this vital topic.
